Starhub kept at 'hold' pending clarity over MyRepublic's strategy and weak earnings outlook

SINGAPORE (May 7): OCBC and CGS-CIMB are maintaining Starhub at “hold” after its 1Q results announcement.

Although OCBC Research says Starhub’s 1Q18 results came in within its expectations, OCBC says it needs clarity over MyRepublic’s strategy.

MyRepublic recently announced the formation of a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) partnership with Starhub. This means MyRepublic will be able to use Starhub’s mobile network infrastructure to offer mobile services in Singapore.
