Singapore is "evaluating" the timeline and scope for its reopening as a new cluster breaks out: Lawrence Wong

Singapore will require pre-departure tests for travellers from India who are not Singapore citizens or PRs from September 17.

"Up to now, the costs of tests and SHN facilities have been borne by the Government. But looking ahead, as we reopen for more travel, we will want to move to a more sustainable position,” says Lawrence Wong.

Phase two should not be treated as a signal that “we can relax we can all let our guard down,” said National Development Minister Lawrence Wong.

“We welcome these travellers and we want to see the resumption of travel – but it has to be done in a safe way,” said National Development Minister Lawrence Wong

“We appeal to everyone in Singapore that our mindset should not be to exploit each and every rule to the fullest possible degree, but really to understand the spirit of the regulations and to continue to uphold the precautions,”said Minister Lawrence Wong

"If we all do this, then life can go on more or less normally after the circuit breaker. We don’t want Covid-19 cases to spike up again and be forced to tighten once more,” said PM Lee

“All of us must do our part by rejecting the Not-In-My-Backyard mindset,” said Minister Lawrence Wong

“If the community transmission – if infection rates over these two weeks remain low and stable – then we will decide by the middle of June on whether we want to take the next step to move to Phase 2,” said National Development Minister Lawrence Wong.

“As we know more about COVID-19, as a result of both global research, as well as research done locally, we will adjust our medical plan for COVID-19 patients,” said Health Minister Gan Kim Yong.
