When it comes to SpaceX, much of the public’s attention has been captured by the company’s interplanetary ambitions.

Ahead of its June 12 initial public offering (IPO), the company’s prospectus offered investors sweeping promises of “extending the light of consciousness to the stars” and sparing humanity from “the same fate as dinosaurs”.

There is no doubt that Elon Musk is a great businessman and an even better storyteller, a combination that looks set to make him the world’s first trillionaire.
