Singapore companies are advancing sustainability initiatives faster than their global counterparts. However, most have not tapped on artificial intelligence (AI) to drive environmental decisions despite pressure from stricter disclosure requirements and rising carbon taxes.
The majority (87%) of organisations in the city-state maintained or advanced sustainability efforts this year, up from 60% in 2024 and ahead of the 66% global average, according to the third annual Global Sustainability Barometer Study conducted by Ecosystm for Kyndryl and Microsoft. The research surveyed 1,286 enterprise leaders across 20 countries between August and September.
