European solar profits tumble to record low on long sunny spring

Profits at Europe’s solar parks have sunk to record lows, raising concerns that the more the industry expands, the farther prices will fall.
The figures are most stark in Spain, where the so-called capture rate, a key measure of profitability for renewable energy assets, has averaged just 7% so far this month, according to data from London Stock Exchange Group. That’s down from 43% a year ago.
