Phillip Securities, the brokerage arm of PhillipCapital, has launched a live currency conversion feature on its trading platform POEMS.

The feature allows investors access to real-time foreign currency exchange rates for seven currencies - the US dollar, the Singapore dollar, the Hong Kong dollar, the Chinese renminbi, the Australian dollar, the pound sterling, and the Canadian dollar.

In a media release dated April 5, PhillipCapital states the new initiative will allow investors to seamlessly convert from one currency to another, thus enabling them to take better advantage of competitive, real-time foreign currency exchange rates.

Rates are updated every minute, subject to currency holidays and liquidity.

Luke Lim, executive director of Phillip Securities, says that the company has continuously enhanced the POEMS platform and wants its customers to benefit from the “tight foreign exchange (FX) liquidity”.

“With the new feature of competitive FX conversions, our investors can hedge the FX risk to maximise their global investment portfolio returns,” he says.

Phillip Securities also recently launched an online discovery module on POEMS that uses artificial intelligence technology to match trading opportunities of the top listed companies of the world to investors. Investors can use this new tool to discover trading opportunities and learn about new stocks.
