According to the joint release put out by Thomson Medical Group and OUE Healthcare, the centre, named FV Thoracic Surgery Centre, will “greatly enhance” the success rate of lung cancer treatment at FV Hospital and in Vietnam. The hospital, through this collaboration, will offer cutting-edge diagnostic and treatment options for lung cancer and complex thoracic conditions at affordable prices for patients in Vietnam, adds the release.
FV Hospital, a member of Thomson Medical Group (SGX:A50) , will set up the first regional thoracic surgery centre in Vietnam with O2 Healthcare Group, a member of OUE (SGX:LJ3
) Healthcare. The centre will offer diagnostic and surgical treatment services for all thoracic conditions, including lung cancer, mediastinal tumours, oesophageal cancer, pneumothorax, chest wall conditions, and sympathetic nerve resection. Thomson Medical Group completed the acquisition of FV Hospital in January this year. O2 Healthcare Group is a leading lung specialist in Singapore.
As part of the collaboration, Dr Su Jang Wen, a leading cardiothoracic surgeon and lung cancer specialist from O2 Healthcare Group, will provide treatment for patients at the new centre. Su has over 20 years of experience and has performed over 7,000 lung, heart, and oesophageal surgeries since 2007. He received advanced training in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery in the US.
