Deloitte Southeast Asia, on March 16, announced that it will be appointing Eugene Ho as its next CEO.

Ho, who will succeed outgoing CEO Philip Yuen, is currently Deloitte Southeast Asia’s regional managing director for consulting as well as its chief strategy & innovation officer.

He will assume his new role on June 1, which is the start of Deloitte’s fiscal year 2024.

The appointment is said to be part of a rigorous and comprehensive succession and nomination process, which was overseen by the Deloitte Southeast Asia Board. Ho comes with over 28 years of management consulting experience, including the last 18 years as a partner in Deloitte.

His key focus areas include large-scale business transformation programmes across various sectors in Asia Pacific and in countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Japan and India.

“I am honoured to have been selected by my partners as Deloitte Southeast Asia’s next CEO. It is a privilege to serve an organisation that is anchored in its purpose to make an impact that matters for its clients, people and communities,” says Ho.

“Under Philip’s leadership, Deloitte Southeast Asia has successfully grown in size and scale; and this has put us in prime position to be the undisputed leader in professional services in the region. I am excited to lead the firm into its next chapter, making significant investments to grow and develop our talent, strengthen our seamless, end-to-end service to our clients, and raise the bar for the profession,” he adds.

Yuen, who is also the chairman of Deloitte Singapore, has been with Deloitte for over 38 years after beginning his career with the firm in the UK. He was appointed as Deloitte Southeast Asia’s CEO in 2016 and would have completed two terms in the role on May 31.

I am confident Eugene will lead the firm to even greater success,” says Yuen.

“It has been an honour and privilege to serve as Deloitte Southeast Asia CEO for the past seven years. I have been very blessed to work together with many highly talented people, and I am grateful to all our clients and friends for their support and trust in Deloitte,” he adds.
