Local businesses can soon calculate the carbon footprint of their products with greater accuracy via an updated methodology in the Singapore Business Federation’s (SBF) Singapore Emission Factors Registry (SEFR).

The product-specific emissions data will also be more consistent with global peers, allowing local firms to exchange such information with other suppliers and make informed sourcing and procurement decisions.

SBF signed a memorandum of understanding with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) at Ecosperity Week 2025 on May 6, confirming the adoption of the Partnership for Carbon Transparency’s (PACT) latest methodology and technical specifications for emissions data into the SEFR.
