SINGAPORE (Dec 27): Options looks back at the products, events, places and trends that caught our attention in 2019. We kick off the list with some of our favourite buys during the year.

See the world
Oakley has opened our eyes to the world of colours with sunnies in bright shades of purple, yellow and even pink. Be bold, be fearless and see the world from a different perspective.

Get organised
The Nevis Tote bag by Anya Hindmarch in bright red has a handy internal card holder so you will never have to rummage through your bag to look for your cards. Plus get a cute bag charm to personalise it.

It takes two
Prada La Femme Velvet Edition is a floral fragrance interwoven with ylang ylang and vanilla, while Prada L’Homme Velvet Edition is based on fougère with neroli, geranium and patchouli.

Protection needed
Protect Your Love bag by Pinko from the ravages of the weather with the thermoplastic polyurethane, or TPU, cover in fashionable shades.

A reason to shop
The newly opened Studio B at Pedder on Scotts is a concept space showcasing a range of footwear, handbags and accessories from contemporary and emerging brands that are handpicked for their modern aesthetic and quality craftsmanship.

Stylish bags
The Guirlande de Cartier is one of the best bags we have seen from the creative minds at the maison. Its shape is unusual, as it has eight clean-cut sides that are stamped with a gold frieze — in a garland of flowers or butterfly motifs — around the edges.

Himalayan goodness
The Body Shop’s Himalayan Charcoal collection contains ingredients that have been hand-harvested from the foothills of the Himalayas as well as green tea leaves from Japan and tea tree oil from Kenya.

Go on a holiday
German brand Rimowa’s new collection is based on its classic collection and retains its signature groove. The design was accidentally created in 1937 when the parallel-grooved aluminium structure was used to stabilise the thin aluminium; because it looked so good, the designers decided to keep it.

Write it down
Good news for die-hard romantics who still prefer to write. Stationery maker Collins Debden has the Edge Rainbow A5-size notebook in black, deep grey, indigo, pink and yellow.

Many possibilities
The Van Cleef & Arpels Perlée jewellery collection offers the wearer multiple combinations. It has a transformable long, yellow gold chain and a pendant that comes with three different-sized rings in turquoise, coral or onyx, each showcasing the iconic beads. The central ring can be removed and replaced by one of three other circles adorned with beads, while the long necklace can be worn in different ways to suit every occasion.

Asian-inspired
Floraïku is a range of luxury fragrances inspired by Asian tradition, ceremonies and culture. It is also inspired by Japanese haiku poetry, hence the name: Flora + Haiku = Floraïku.

City sights
Harry Winston pays tribute to New York with the Fifth Avenue collection. New York has been the inspiration for Harry Winston since he started his jewellery business in 1932 with the opening of his eponymous store at Fifth Avenue.

Revive your skin
Need to give your skin a boost? Try the My Clarins skincare range. It covers everything from cleansers to toners with catchy names such as Re-Move to cleanse; Re-Fresh, a hydrating mist; Re-Boost to hydrate parched skin; and Re-Charge, a sleep mask.

Earthy tones
Bang & Olufsen’s limited-edition premium headphones, speakers and accessories are in shades of the forest. Take your pick, from natural colours of the earth to the greens of the trees and the clear blue skies.

Walk on by
Originally made for sailing, Loro Piana’s Open Walk and Summer Walk shoes are made with special soles that do not leave marks on the wooden decks of sailing yachts. Being the fashionista that you are, you can use these shoes for everyday errands.
