The review by CCCS includes third-party feedback from industry players and members of the public.

CCCS is inviting public feedback to be submitted by Aug 15.

The public can provide feedback on the matter between June 21 to July 12.

Singapore needs to strengthen its consumer protection laws to promote fairer outcomes for consumers without compromising growth.

The proposed acquisition was announced in August 2019.

The Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS) has concluded its investigation into the online food delivery and virtual kitchen sectors in Singapore after 10 months, following a complaint regarding anti-competitive conduct last year.

SINGAPORE (March 9): Grab and Gojek could be heading towards some sort of alliance or even a merger, as their backers face pressure to justify the valuations of loss-making tech companies.

In a media statement today, CCCS concluded that the merged entity would continue to face sufficient competition in the relevant markets from other suppliers in Singapore and overseas.

CCCS is investigating if the acquisition would infringe the Competition Act - which prohibits mergers that are expected to result in a substantial lessening of competition within any market in Singapore
