SBS Transit has appointed Cheng Siak Kian as its new CEO.
Cheng was previously acting CEO since March 1, 2020.
Prior to that, Cheng was COO of SBS Transit and the CEO of ComfortDelGro (CDG) Australia.
Cheng’s appointment as CEO will take effect from March 1.
According to SBS, the appointment has taken into account Cheng’s qualifications and experiences, as well as his good performance in managing the operations of the group’s buses and trains despite Covid-19.
Before joining SBS Transit in September 2015, Cheng was previously in the Singapore Airforce from 2014 to 2015 as commander, air defence and ops command. He was at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) as director in the policy office from 2011 to 2014.
Shares in SBS Transit closed 1 cent lower or 0.3% down at $2.98 on March 1.
